LOOKING BACK TO 2016
Lately, social media has been filled with posts of people looking back ten years….. sharing photos, milestones, and memories of where they were then versus where they are now. For me, ten years ago was just after I started CHIC OVER 50. At the time, I had no idea what that beginning would grow into. This has been quite a journey, and one I truly never could have imagined.
2016 was a year of showing up anyway. Smiling through uncertainty. Getting dressed even when life felt heavy. These photos hold more than outfits. They hold resilience, courage, and the quiet decision to move forward…. with HIS help. I didn’t know then what this space would become, or that CHIC OVER 50 would grow into a business. I only knew that style gave me joy, and joy gave me strength. Looking back now, I see a woman learning how powerful she already was!

MY FINAL THOUGHTS
As I look back on these moments, I’m filled with so many emotions. Like life itself, there were undeniable highs, but also times of deep struggle. What stands out to me most now is just how much emotional turmoil I was carrying at the time. From the outside, things may have looked put together, but inside I was praying for steadiness and hope. In the midst of that, this blog became a refuge…… something beautiful and supportive that lifted me out of my day-to-day reality and gave me space to breathe, dream, and rebuild.
I’ve always believed this platform was a gift from God, truly. It gave me not only an outlet, but a purpose….. and ultimately, a way to change the course of my life. Because of that, I can’t imagine ever walking away from it. I’m forever grateful to those of you who have been here since the beginning, and to those who have joined me along the way. I continue to show up because I know this space helps women at midlife navigate a season that is both challenging and transformative. Whether through fashion, which has always brought me much joy, or through conversations that go beyond it, my heart is in serving and supporting women who are right here in it with me!
